12 Best Non-Alcoholic Wines That Taste Just Like The Real Thing

Cheers to that!

Alexandra Folino

With the dawn of a new year, many people are taking on new resolutions. For some, that may be giving up alcohol either for the month or for forever. Or maybe you are the designated driver, expecting a baby, or simply need a night without liquid courage. Whatever the reasoning, just because you give up booze does not mean you still can't enjoy a little wine, non alcoholic of course.

These crisp, light whites and bold, deep reds taste just like any other glass of wine—except for the fact that they do not contain alcohol. Some of the sparkling wines on this list are fruit-based carbonated drinks, basically juice with some bubbles added in. Other vinos are wines that have gone through a "dealcoholization process," which takes the alcohol out of a regular bottle of wine, but doesn't change the wine's flavor. Basically, producers will make a wine with all the normal vinification processes such as fermenting with yeast, but at the very end, the alcohol is removed through reverse osmosis or vacuum distillation. So it still looks and tastes like wine, sans the boozy part. This way, no matter who's in the room, everyone can join in on the toast. So pour yourself a glass. Cheers!

Looking for more non-alcoholic drinks? These non-alcoholic spirits, wine-free sangria, summer mocktails, and booze-free beers should do the trick.
