Chrissy Teigen just revealed that she accidentally insulted Katy Perry and the song "Firework," and it's all incredibly *😂*. Apparently, the moment went down a few weeks back when Chrissy was in Washington D.C. with her husband John Legend, who performed after Joe Biden's Inauguration.
Katy was also there performing "Firework" during a literal fireworks display, and Chrissy ran into her—which is when things took a turn for the awk.
“I remember I was so scared because we ran into Katy Perry after, and I always say dumb things,” Chrissy told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “I always get so nervous, and I say faux pas, and then I hadn’t seen Katy for so long.”
Basically, Chrissy tried to pay Katy a compliment, but Katy heard her wrong and thought she'd insulted the song "Firework:"
“I was like, ‘Oh, I typically hate fireworks, but that was like amazing, that was beautiful.’ And then I think she heard that I said I hate ‘Firework,’ like the song,” Chrissy said. “I wanted to die, I felt so bad. ‘No, no, no, not ‘Firework.” Ugh, I always do that.”
Katy hasn't responded to Chrissy's story yet but hopefully there are no hard feelings. Anyway, here's her performance in case you're suddenly in the mood to watch....
